Experiencing problems viewing Adobe PDF format files ?

Documents in PDF format with tables, graphics or charts, can be slow to load and view from within your browser. This problem can also be experienced with large, table/graphic/chart intensive, PDF documents - even with a fast internet connection.

In some cases, when the document contains several graphics, tables or charts, the PDF file will appear to be fully downloaded in your browser window but will only contain text. To overcome these problems the PDF files can first be downloaded and saved to your computer.

In Internet Explorer, click on the PDF file link with the right-mouse button and select 'Save Target As' from the presented menu. The PDF file can then be saved to your computer in a directory/folder that you choose.

In Netscape, click on the PDF file link with the right-mouse button and select 'Save Link As' from the presented menu. The PDF file can then be saved to your computer in a directory/folder that you choose.

Once the PDF file is downloaded to your computer it can be opened, viewed or printed with Adobe Acrobat Reader, the same as any other locally stored PDF format document.

In most cases the benefits of downloading and saving the PDF file using the right-mouse button are:

  • faster download times over slow or fast internet connections
  • quicker opening and viewing\printing of large PDF documents
  • PDF files can be printed using any graphics printer.

To read and print a PDF publication, you must have the Adobe Acrobat Reader software installed on your PC; you can download Adobe Acrobat Reader for FREE from the Adobe website.
